About the Workshop
Safety excellence cannot be achieved through procedures, inspections and compliance alone. It requires leaders who influence behaviour, build trust and turn safety expectations into everyday decisions.
This practical workshop examines how leadership behaviour shapes safety culture and performance, moving participants from traditional safety management to proactive safety leadership: commitment and accountability, visible and felt leadership, psychological safety and speaking up, human factors, leading indicators, and learning from incidents rather than blame.
The workshop is grounded in practical experience from major programmes and projects, including an anonymised leadership case from a live operational environment and a digitalised HSE assurance benchmark involving 9,000+ observations and approximately 75% faster reporting and analysis. Every participant leaves with a leadership self-assessment and a 90-day action plan.

Workshop Objectives
- Distinguish safety leadership from traditional safety management.
- Recognise how leadership behaviour affects safety performance.
- Build psychological safety, trust and reporting of hazards and near misses.
- Use leading indicators to identify weaknesses before incidents occur.
- Shift incident investigation from blame to organisational learning.
- Develop a personal 90-day safety leadership action plan.
